Abstract
The objective of this project was the design and construction of a screen editor that is to be part of the INTERPAs package to run under the UCSD Pascal operating system on an Apple II microcomputer. UCSD Pascal is a single user Operating System developed at the University of California/San Diego for minicomputers and microcomputers. INTERPAs is a software package which consists of a source level interpreter for a dialect of Pascal and an integrated editor and filer.

The editor is specifically designed to facilitate construction of Pascal programs and has commands that permit the user to make additions and deletions and to search and replace text. Most of the statement types of Pascal are predefined as templates. Thus, during program entry the text of the template need not be typed; rather it is entered into the program by a two-keystroke command. The editor also performs various file handling duties, diminishing the need for a separate utility to perform such tasks.
