Abstract

Flowable fill, also known as Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM), is an easy to use, inexpensive cementitious material with a wide range of potential uses. This study examines some of the ways this material has been used in the past and explores other possibilities for future use. The main focus of this research investigates the potential for this material to be used around hazardous waste sites and other possible future uses. To determine if this material could meet environmental standards and other practical considerations, durability and the compressive strength at twenty-eight days were investigated in this study.
