Abstract

This study is devoted to a quantitative analysis of seed recovery data obtained from collection and processing of the by-products from the UTSI Magnetohydrodynamic (MHd) generator test facility. In particular, the cyclone collectors are studied to determine what portion of all exhausting material they collected. The cyclone design considerations are covered and total collection per run given.

or seed from flyash collected in the cyclone hoppers and particulate collected from the cyclone stack is presented. The percentage of seed material at various key locations is also given.

The significance given to seed recovery/makeup costs compared to capital costs and fuel costs is presented.
