A microprocessor data acquisition system for control of a variable-air-volume air conditioning system
This thesis presents the design and development of a microprocessor-based distributed data acquisition system. The data acquisition system is used in the modification of a variable-airvolume (vAv) system. This VAv system occupies a medium size four story office building located at the Knoxville Utilities Board Middlebrook Pike site.
A direct digital control system was installed to control the two cooling coils. Control of the cooling coils is based upon data collected by the distributed temperature data acquisition system. A total of I30 temperature transducers were instal led throughout the building.Thus, a means of verjfication of the zone temperatures of the building was achieved. Test procedures and system applications of the data acquisition system are included.
