Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to determine procedures and criteria for acquiring distribution system data which will be useful in the computation of distribution system reliability. Methods of using computer capabilities to generate, manipulate and store this data are presented. A system of computer computation which will use the computerized data to relate reliability to cost is presented. The system specifies some of the data subsets and gives the associated computer operations necessary to complete the reliability to cost evaluations. The acquisition of data and the computation of reliability parameters are demonstrated in a practical example using six feeders in a two substation area.
