Abstract

Technology at the end of the 20th century has increased complexities in our life; common uses of computers and satellites in facilitating our daily activities and productivity demand an architecture which is more appropriate for these times. Architecture needs to rethink and develop the possibility of accommodating both electronic and non-electronic supported activities with regard to the inside-outside expression and articulation of a building. The contradictory issues of universal vs. local, technology vs. nature and virtual vs. phenomenal need to be considered as convergent and intertwined with each other in creating space through measurement of space, distance, and time is the design method used in approaching collaboration among the issues.
