Abstract

The problem of this study was the need for more effective tools for a supervisory behavior system to utilize to influence the classroom testing behavior of teachers The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of the implementation of a computer-based test analysis and feedback system on the testing behavior of teachers, as a first step in the development of a supervisory support system dealing with student evaluation.

Data as to test reliability,.item difficulty, and item discrimination were collected from six tests for each of ten participants. . Five participants that composed the experimental group received feedback from the system as to their test analysis, while the five members of the control group received no information. The participants were randomly assigned to groups.

The null hypotheses of no difference between means of the gain scores of the groups for test reliability, item difficulty, and item discrimination were not rejected at the .O5 level of significance. Further, a time series analysis of the data required that no judgement be made as to the functional relationship of the dependent variables and time, as an independent variable.

In conclusion, analysis of the data did not support that feedback from the system directly to the individual concerned could influence the testing behavior of teachers.
