Abstract
This is a report of a study made of the German-Swiss Colony located at Gruetli, in Grundy County, Tennessee. The principal objectives were to determine the farm organization and farm practices of these Swiss farmers and their social interests and activities. A study of the historical development of the colony has been helpful in understanding the present and economic and social conditions in the colony.
Public attention has been called to the independent existence of these people when so many of their neighbors are on the Relief rolls. From them certain lessons might be learned which will be of use to others.
