Abstract
The purpose of conducting this study was to collect data from the twenty-four graduates of the graphic arts programs of the Knox County School System for the years 1978 and 1979, so that information obtained from the former students could be used to inform and orientate the present and future students.

A combination mailed questionnaire and telephone interview sheet developed from which information was gathered, summarized, and tabulated. There were twenty questions grouped in primary categories of employment, unemployment, military service and continuing education. Of these twenty questions four were open-ended response items, one required a written response and the remaining sixteen were multiple choice. Responses were obtained from 75 percent of the twenty-four graduates.

A review of the data indicated that 34 percent of the graduates were employed in areas related to their training. All of the respondents were still residing in the community. The overall hourly wage for graduates who were employed in the training area was well above the minimum hourly wage as set forth by the Federal Government. Very positive feelings were expressed by all respondents toward the graphic arts program, although 56 percent felt that more class time should have been spent on employment preparation.
