Abstract

The specific objectives of this study may be listed as follows: 1. To describe existing production patterns for commercial eggs before the Interstate Highway System. 2. To estimate transfer time and cost functions for moving commercial eggs from surplus areas to deficit areas. (a) Pre-Interstate Highway System. (b) Post-Interstate Highway System. 3. To describe expected shifts in egg production after the Interstate Highway System is completed. 4. To estimate the impact of the Interstate Highway System on production and distribution patterns for Tennessee commercial eggs.
