Abstract
Casuistry is proposed as a plausible and fruitful approach to medical ethics consultation. It is seen to avoid certain problems inherent in more deductive approaches, and to be more widely applicable in a pluralistic society. Its focus upon individual cases and their resolution renders casuistry especially suitable to the medical setting.
