Abstract
In view of the fact that all metal conduits, experiencing the changes of temperature that are inherent in steam transportation, require the use of some form of expansion joint should be of interest to those in the engineering profession, or those about to enter that profession, to become acquainted with the general characteristics of expansion joints for steam pipes. With this idea in mind, this paper was written.
