Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the amount of recreation involved in the planning of Individual Education Plans for special needs elementary school children. In order to achieve this, the following problems were discussed: (a) to determine if recreation, as a related service, is included in the lEPs, (b) to determine if recreation, as a related service, is included in the provision of services for special needs students, (c) if recreation is included, what aspect of recreation is incorporated into the lEP, (d) to identify who delivers these recreation services, and (e) to identify the desired benefits of the recreation participation for the elementary students.
