Abstract

An attempt has been made to model an energy dependent economy in order to determine the optimal rates of consumption and energy imports. The main mathematical tool was optimal control theory. With this technique the existence of an equilibrium was demonstrated along with the optimal rates of consumption and energy imports necessary to reach it.
