PB842-Turfgrass Diseases and Their Control

Many diseases occur on the different turfgrasses that are used throughout Tennessee. Most of the diseases are caused by fungi and nematodes. Some problems such as wilt, cold damage, heat, high soluble salts, soil compaction or chemical damage that resemble diseases are caused by environmental or management factors. Careful identification of the cause of the problem is important when selecting proper control methods.
