Abstract
Pentachlorophenol (PCP) has been widely used in the food preserving industry. PCP's use is controlled by both the "Clean Water Act" and the "Resource Conservation and Recovery Act." Plants which use PCP are now faced with a disposal problem. The treatability of PCP has had limited success, however nowhere in the literature has a treatment scheme been shown which will treat PCP to the limitations proposed in current regulations. This thesis investigates treating PCP by a process using UV/ozonation.
