Abstract

The purpose of this thesis project was to design an interactive data base system on a micro computer for management of the data on radioactive waste stored at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The system was designed to provide managers user-friendly, menu-driven and ad hoc methods of entering and retrieving data. The system was then designed using Micro Data Base Systems III (MDBS III). The primary result was the development of a micro computer data base containing the specified data which is easily and interactively retrievable. The significance of this work was the design and implementation of on extended-network data base on a micro computer. This system replaces an antiquated method of data processing and provides the users with a state-of-the-art method of information management.
