Abstract

This study provides a complete understanding of the Convenience Center Concept of rural household solid waste collection. The success of Convenience Centers is evaluated from both a public administration and county resident perspective.


The findings of this study indicate that Convenience Centers, as implemented in Jefferson County, Tennessee, have proven to be a waste collection efficient and cost effective method of rural household solid waste collection that has achieved a rapid and high measure of public acceptance and use.
