Abstract

The goal of this work is to investigate the current distribution on cylindrical dipole antennas. The basis for the analytic work is the antenna integral equation involving the tangential electric field intensity and the antenna surface current density. The current is initially expanded into a trigonometric series, making radiation patterns very simple to obtain once the coefficients of this series have been determined.

Since there are several approaches to the problem via the trigonometric method, the solution obtained in this work is compared with others to verify its validity.
