Abstract

A universal power line conditioner is implemented using Texas Instruments' TMS320C25 digital signal processor to calculate compensation current and a high-frequency MOSFET pulse width modulation voltage-fed inverter as the reactive power source. Compensation features, selectable by program, are either load-generated harmonics or harmonics plus var. In the next phase of the project, additional compensation functions will be added, including load imbalance and transients.
