The Christian ethics of Paul Ramsey : an analysis of his moral reasoning as an expression of his theological position

The purpose of this study is to analyze the manner in which Paul Ramsey's ethical position is an outgrowth of his theological background and assumptions. The paper will proceed by investigating Ramsey's apperception of the meaning of Christian Ethics as an outworking of prior faith commitments with agape as the basic moral principle, examining his methodology for doing the work of Christian Ethics by tracing the development of "in-principled love" through the component stages of moral reasoning and demonstrating that the mode of justification in Ramsey's argumentation as an expression of felicity to covenant commitment.
