Abstract

The purpose of this manual is to familiarize the GTSTRUDL user with the applicable CIEM and GTSTRUDL procedural formats that are necessary for efficient structural analysis. The user is first introduced to the NOS system upon which GTSTRUDL programs are formulated and executed. Subsequently a breviary of the analysis process from login to completion is discussed and explained. Finally explicit GTSTRUDL instructions on matrix, finite element, and dynamic analyses in addition to structural steel design are included with detailed accompanying examples.

Typically GTSTRUDL, regardless of the specificity of the analysis technique, arranges input data and output requests in consistent sequences from program to program. With this in mind, problem examples in this text, for the purpose of clarity and brevity in descriptions and explanations will be organized in the following format:

STRUCTURAL GEOMETRY

STRUCTURAL COMPONENT CHARACTERISTICS

LOADINGS

ANALYSES

TEXT OUTPUT

GRAPHICAL OUTPUT

Finally, it is the intent of this manual to be supplementary to and in conjunction with GTSTRUDL Vol. 1,2,3, as well as the CCIEM NOS 2 USER'S GUIDE Vol 1,2.
