Abstract

This manual is intended as a guide for wastewater laboratory analysts in setting up their own Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) programs. A laboratory QA/QC program is usually required by regulatory agencies, but there are good reasons to institute such a program voluntarily. A QA/QC program consists of procedures that ensure the precision and accuracy of tests performed on a daily basis. Precision refers to repeatability, or being able to achieve the same test results in subsequent tests. Accuracy refers to the closeness of test results to the correct values.
