Abstract

A study of load flow and its relationship to sensitivity calculation is conducted on several sample power systems under balanced conditions. The Newton-Raphson load flow method has been extended for the preparation of a computer code for sensitivity analysis. Three test systems have been used to illustrate various sensitivity calculations. The results of most of these studies have been shown by means of graphs. The impact of system impedance and load levels on sensitivity is investigated. Studies correlating sensitivity and transient stability have been performed. A cursory investigation of reactive power flow has been considered.
