Abstract

Male European corn borer pupae were exposed to a substerilizing dose of gamma radiation. Treated males were as successful as nonirradiated males in spermatophore transfer and production of offspring when allowed to mate with nonirradiated females. The progeny of irradiated males inherited sterility and produced no offspring when allowed to mate with normal com borers.
