Abstract

An algorithm is described which compensates for pneumatic lag effects in wind tunnel pressure measurement systems and thus significantly enhances data productivity. This algorithm is based on the Navier-Stokes equations for flow through a tube, with simplifying assumptions applied to predict orifice pressure from the time-varying transducer output. The validity of the algorithm for various pressure measurement systems is experimentally verified, and guidelines for the use of the technique are documented.
