A numerical study of implicit Runge-Kutta methods for stiff initial value problems

In this thesis we describe results and numerical experiments designed to test the performance of diagonally implicit Runge-Kutta methods and implicit Runge-Kutta Collocation methods for stiff systems of ordinary differential equations.
