Abstract

Methods of determining the one-dlmensional or mean value of a measured flow property were Investigated. This investigation was partially accomplished by a literature review of previous investigations and current flowpath averaging practices. Two basic methods for determining the mean value of a measured flow property were identified. Comparison of these flowpath averaging methods for typical turbine engine flows was conducted. Recommendations for further flowpath averaging considerations are offered.
