Looking back : collected poems
This collection consists of thirty-six poems, predominantly free-verse and autobiographical. They explore memories, family relationships, and places or moments which, for one reason or another, have had a lasting impact on the author. The first section of the manuscript deals with people and moves from the comforting childhood memories to the awareness of more disturbing realities of life--likewise the focus shifts from the family or inner circle to embrace those who move outside this circle. In the same manner the second section (dealing with 'places and moments') moves from an innocent observation to a more experienced one. The final section, consisting of earlier poems or versions of later poems, is intended to illustrate the author's growth, technically and perceptively.
