The purpose of this study was to design a model for the development of a prototype theme/amusement park to be located at the Suez Canal Region, The Arab Republic of Egypt. A modified ten-stage model (based on Dressel's model) was used as premises for the research procedure. Two parts of the model were thoroughly probed; these are:

B. Development of management plans for establishing a theme/amusement park in the Suez Canal Region, Egypt. In order to investigate part (A) of the model a Visitors' Attitude Survey of the Egyptian Population was mailed to 1,000 randomly selected Egyptian families in seven major cities in the neighborhood of the proposed theme/amusement park. Twenty-five percent of them were returned. Findings demonstrated a positive interest of the Egyptian population in developing the project. Part (B) of the model was investigated through a questionnaire "Management Plans for Developing Theme/Amusement Parks in the USA.
