Catalogue produced to accompany exhibition of John Coleman's work held at the McClung Museum, October 31 - November 23, 1965.
Born Hamburg, Germany, 1923. Educated in England and the U.S. Served three years in the U.S. Army during World War II. Worked as a tobacconist until 1950 when he was stricken with tuberculosis. Discovered his interest in art during recover from his illness. Since 1952, has devoted himself to the Fine Arts, studying in Mexico City with Prof. Isidoro Ocampo and with Jonny Friedlaender in Paris. Lived and worked in Los Angeles, CA.
