Abstract

Poster: "CHANGES IN ANNUAL PER CAPITA CONSUMPTION OF PRINCIPAL FOODS DURING LAST 15 YEARS"

"There has been a larger increase in the aggregate per capita consumption of dairy products (milk, butter, cheese, evaporated milk and ice cream) since the early "20's" than for any other major product in the diet except vegetables. The large increases in consumption of vegetables, dairy products and fruits--the protective foods--are indicative of the slow but consistent improvement in the quality of our national diet. The seven types of food listed above comprise over 90% by weight of the average person's annual food consumption."
