Abstract

A method to detect polygons in images using the Hough transforn for lines is developed. Previous research done on the Hough transform is summarized, and special properties of the transform for lines are discussed. The polygon detection routine is described in detail, and the results of testing the routine on synthetic and aerial infrared images are given. The performance of the method is discussed, and suggestions are made for further research.
