Abstract
The Problem: The major concern of this study is the identification of competencies necessary for successful teaching in the elementary schools. It is proposed in this investigation to perform the following tasks:
1. To describe the competencies needed by elementary teachers for quality job performance.
2. To assemble these competencies into a behavior pattern that will reveal the job of elementary teachers in entirety, as reflected in the elements and element relationships which makeup a useful Competency Pattern.
