Abstract

The primary purpose of this work is to design and build a testing unit as permanent equipment for the Gas Engine Laboratory.

A complete, detailed description of the testing unit will be given, including methods of mounting the various parts and instruments; the method of starting; the method of cooling; and the method of loading. Enough test data will be included to give the reader some conception as to the operation of the machine, and as to the value of the material obtained in the test.
