Our responsibility to future generations

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the question "Do we have a responsibility to future generations?" The attempts of several authors to answer this question are examined. It is suggested that their answers to the question are unsatisfying because of their assumptions. A different approach which employs alternative assumptions is recommended so that we may give an adequate response to the question "Do we have a responsibility to future generations?"
