El fondo telurico y social en las obras de Antonio Mediz Bolio
We understand that not all human beings respond the same way to identical situations all the time. However, studies of this nature have been used by the author of this dissertation and have led him to believe that Antonio Mediz Bolio (1884-1957) was profoundly influenced by the telluric and social aspects of his native land, the Yucatan Peninsula. The influence of the land itself and the social environment of the Mayan area on the writings of Mediz Bolio is obvious. It comes to life in his poetry, his theatre, and most of all in his prose.
Therefore, the purpose of this dissertation is to show the manner and degree to which the telluric and social aspects of the Mayan area are evident in the literature of this Yucatecan writer who has begun and will continue to influence other generztions of artists yet to come.
