A computer aided design software package for logic diagram generation
The development of a 'C language program named LOGDESIGN, which generates a circuit diagram from a list of components is described. The component list, called a net-list, is supplied by the user interactively using the keyboard. Once a net-list is read, the software package manipulates the information and generates the logic diagram on the screen. The package makes some logical decisions about the best placement of modules to enhance clarity. The program operates on the HP-9000 series computer. It employs the HP-9000 advanced graphics package to take care of all graphics tasks. A detailed software development discussion is included along with the source code for future extensions on the project.
