Abstract

This contribution discusses - based partly on personal travel experiences - the needs, strengths and weaknesses of comparing adult education internationally. Arguments for International Comparison are presented as well as a typology of research-types. The International Society for Comparative Adult Education ISCAE, its purpose and history is described. Difficulties and perspectives connected to International comparison in Adult Education are presented.
