The department's strengths include an oustanding faculty all of whom are productive researchers, close ties with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Tennessee valley Authority, international research collaboration, and attractive graduate assistantships and scholarship opportunities for undergraduates. In addition to traditional nuclear engineering, concentrations in radiological engineering are also offered at all levels incorporating health physics, medical physics, and radiological assessment.
