Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering

Department Chair: William R. Hamel, PhD, Head

The acronym we use when referring to our name is simply speaking each letter in sequence … MABE. The roots of MABE go back to the initial mechanical engineering program created around 1900. Today, the department is one of the largest in the College of Engineering and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in four distinct programs: mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering biomedical engineering, and engineering science.
