Using current technologies and e-portfolios can instill excellent leadership practices that can bridge communication across all cultures. There are many options for presenting a portfolio to prospective employers; but creating your own web portfolio brings you visibility and creates an avenue for sharing your body of work quickly and easily with the professional world. This program will provide a demonstration of the set-up of a free web site, teaching attendees how they can design a glowing custom portfolio.

The Hustle: A Guide to Going to College Without Paying For It!

This session will introduce students to scholarships, grants, and fellowship resources that will help them pay for school. It will show them examples of what the library has (books, websites) and how to find what they need. This session will also show them materials that will help them with personal statements and discuss some faculty members' insights about writing letters of recommendations.

We will examine the experiences of students in predominantly Black and predominantely White organizations and discuss the implications in order to find out if it really matters if it's Black or White.

The images in today's hip-hop have become even more graphic in its solicitation of images that portray violence against women and the continued destruction of the black community all in the name of "Hustlin." This workshop will attempt to create much needed dialogue concerning the psychological effects of these images as well as come up with strategies on how to demand that there be a balance added to the music.
